Carol Turner has worked with The Family Centre for over seven years in various roles, her current position is Manager of Community Engagement & Indigenous Relations with the Indigenous Support Services team.
Carol Turner completed her Bachelor of Social work through the University of Calgary in 2016. Carol is a wîcihtâsow (helper in the context of ceremony) but has been gifted with a Ceremonial Cree name – mihko pihêsiw iskwew (Red Thunder Bird Woman) – and has been involved with Indigenous teachings from nêhiyaw (Cree) Knowledge Keepers and Elders. Carol appreciates Indigenous knowledge and ceremonies and understands how culture plays an integral role in collaborating with children, families and Communities.
